This month I will be featuring the wise words of the incomparable Brené Brown. She is a hero and mentor of mine, because she brings attention to the subjects of vulnerability and shame. It's rare that a social worker rises to her level of notoriety, which makes it possible for her message to reach a wide audience. Her message is the message of all of us who work in mental health--that worthiness is your birthright and you are loved and lovable no matter what. You can let go being perfect and start being who you are, which is always better and more interesting.
Today's words are by Brené Brown from The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You're Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are.
Healing Words of the Day is an ongoing series with the intention of once a day shifting focus away from suffering and onto healing. Healing is a daily practice of listening to your inner voice and turning pain into purpose.
Please feel free to share words that have helped you heal or your thoughts on these healing words.
