Today is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day. Pets help us heal, but we also have a responsibility to choose a pet wisely, so that we may be a part of the pet's healing and solving the problem of over population. Ten years ago we adopted a dog from a local shelter and he has been my constant companion. I wouldn't trade him for any other dog in the world, and I'm sure most shelter pet parents would say the same thing. Healing Words is an ongoing series with the intention of once a day shifting focus away from suffering and onto healing. Healing is a daily practice of listening to your inner voice and turning pain into purpose. Please feel free to share words that have helped you heal or your thoughts on these healing words.
