Oprah says the universe speaks to us in whispers and if we don't listen it gets louder and louder. I probably first heard this in my twenties and kept waiting for a message from the universe. Nothing happened. Then my health started to decline and I ignored it. It started to decline more and I ignored it more. Finally I ended up in the emergency room and I couldn't ignore it anymore. There were whispers and I didn't listen until they were screams. I realized what the universe was telling me—you are out of alignment with your true self and you've fallen off your true path—and I started to make big changes. I'm still working on letting go of beliefs and expectations, but now when I slip up I'm more aware of it. The more I get into alignment the better I feel and the more that is revealed to me about my purpose.
