You didn't ask to be sick or for bad things to happen to you. It's not your fault. When you blame yourself, you are at risk of becoming frozen in fear, because you don't want to do anything to cause your illness to get worse or bad things to happen again. When you know it's not your fault, you become empowered to make the changes you need to make in order to heal. Today's words are from Toni Bernhard, author of How to Live Well with Chronic Pain and Illness: A Mindful Guide. Healing Words is an ongoing series with the intention of once a day shifting focus away from suffering and onto healing. Healing is a daily practice of listening to your inner voice and turning pain into purpose. Please feel free to share words that have helped you heal or your thoughts on these healing words.
