I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with an office in West Seattle. I am a self-employed therapist in private practice.
A good fit for my practice is a client who is highly motivated and committed to regular weekly sessions. There is no timeline for therapy; however, I use a more long-term therapeutic approach.
I consider myself to be a somatic therapist and practice based on a modality called Somatic Transformation. I also incorporate mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and psychodynamic theory.
This 9 minute video describes the basis for the therapeutic interventions of somatic therapy: Trauma and the Nervous System: A Polyvagal Perspective.
I serve clients ages 18-55. I serve people of all gender identities; however, I predominantly work with women and clients who identify as women, as well as, those who are gender non-conforming.
Specialties: Anxiety, ADHD, Chronic/Complex Illness, Life Transitions, Marginalized/Oppressed Populations, Developmental Trauma, Chronic Stress, Mindfulness, Somatic, Spirituality. I do not specialize in bipolar disorder or personality disorders.
I am a Lyme-Literate Therapist with extensive knowledge on the challenges of Lyme disease and treatment.
-People who have recurring suicidal thoughts or behaviors.
-People who experience breaks with reality.
For people who at times need a higher level of care, I suggest looking into a modality called Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) or a person who specializes in the treatment of a particular mental health issue.
New Client Inquiries: my preferred method of contact is email at email@example.com. Please specify a referral source (person or website). Please note: Calling or emailing does not initiate a therapist-client relationship.
Unfortunately I do not have availability at this time.
Referrals: Mindful Therapy Group is a local network of hundreds of therapists in Western Washington and surrounding states. It is a good place to call if you are having difficult locating a therapist.
Current clients in need of non-urgent assistance, please email or call 401.216.7144. In the event of an emergency, please call 9-1-1 or go to your nearest emergency room. In the event of a crisis please call Crisis Connections at 1.866.4CRISIS (427.4747).
